The Un-Brain™
Nonprofit research in mathematical and computational psychology: what artificial memory can reveal about human memory, and how that understanding might one day help prevent and treat conditions of the brain.
The question
At the center of the Un-Brain™ program is a model of memory built to keep what a human memory loses. It doesn't silently decay, it doesn't silently overwrite, and it keeps contradictions for their owner to settle instead of resolving them behind their back. Where the model holds and the brain gives way, the difference becomes something that can be measured, reproduced, and studied.
What we study
The work runs from formal models to the conditions they might one day inform: memory and forgetting, habit and compulsion, how actions are selected and sequenced, and how a memory keeps a stable record of a person over years. The conditions in view include Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Huntington's, addictions, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and other conditions of memory, cognition, and behavior.
These are research directions, not results. Nothing on this site is a diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical claim.
Open and nonprofit
The Un-Brain™ research program is a nonprofit program of Un-Brain Foundation, Inc., done for the community. Every paper is open access with a DOI, and the evidence behind each result is published so it can be checked and reproduced.
